Christiansburg Senior Center will offer Project Move Up presentation on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department. Major life changes and home transitions are stressful. Project Move UP provides the proper support and assistance you and your family need to ensure a smooth transition.  

Depression Presentation

Studies show that states with higher rates of depression show high rates of other negative health outcomes, such as obesity, heart disease, and stroke.  Many people suffer symptoms of depression without seeking care, and that undiagnosed depression costs the U. S. millions of dollars each year.  Join us on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Radford Senior Center at 1:00 p.m. as Heritage Home Health discuss depression awareness, diagnosis, and treatments available.  

Medicare Part D

What’s new? When can I enroll or change my plan? These and other questions and information on plan changes and deadlines will be presented by Deena Flinchum, VICAP Counselor with NRV Agency on Aging. Deena will discuss ways to get coverage, learn what the drug plan covers, the types of cost you’ll pay in a Medicare drug plan and how Part D works with other insurance,. A fun game of bingo will be played following presentation, Bring a dish to share for the luncheon. Join us at Meadowbrook Community Center on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m.

Halloween Bingo

Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department will offer Halloween Bingo on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Join us for bingo, refreshments and fun with your friends.  fee: $4.00

Fun with Acrylics

Painting with acrylics is easy, fun and rewarding. Within a couple of hours a local artist, will give you step-by-step instructions, and you will paint and take home your own holiday masterpiece. No painting experience necessary. Participants are to bring their own canvas, paints will be provided. Join us at Montgomery County Government Center on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.

Lunch and Learn: RAP History

Join us Thursday, November 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m. at Christiansburg Parks and Recreation for their Lunch & Learn: RAP History Dennis Kitts, Retired Manager of Training & Development for BAE Systems at Radford Army Ammunition Plant will present history of the Radford Arsenal, the Dublin Bagging Plant (New River Ordnance) Staff Village in Dublin. Lunch will be provided. 

Active Shooter Training

Join Christiansburg/Montgomery County Triad Council will be taught by Lt. Mark Hollandsworth of Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Montgomery County Government Center at 1:30 p.m.
