This movie will be a documentary about Country Music's Hall of Fame, Glen Campbell, "I'll Be Me". A highly entertaining, but at times depressing document about Alzheimer's. A glimpse at Glen Campbell's final tour in which was a result of him coming down with dealing with Alzheimer's Disease. Light refreshments will be served.

Balance and Fall Prevention
Christiansburg Recreation Center will offer Balance and Fall Prevention on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.. This is a 4 week interactive, educational class for Balance and Fall Prevention as well as the importance of strength and conditioning in our aging population. Physical therapists from University Physical Therapy will be conducting these classes. A healthy snack will be provided and you will have time for questions and answers. Free.
Fundraiser for supplies for seniors
Join RSVP volunteers on Thursday, October 10, 2019 att 10:00 a.m. in the 12th Annual Walk-a-thon, all proceeds will go to purchase basic household and personal care items for over 200 homebound seniors in Montgomery County and Radford. Medicare Part - D
Join us at Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. and find out, "What's new"? Where can I enroll or change my plan? These and other important questions and information on plan changes and deadlines will be presented by Deena Flinchyum, VICAP Copunselor with NRV Agency on Aging. Deena will discuss ways to get coverage, learn that the drug plan covers, the types of costs you'll pay in a Medicare drug plan and how Part D works with other insurance. Care Giver Support
Christiansburg Recreation Center will meet in the senior lounge to talk about the physical and emotional toll that it takes while caregiving and trying to take care of oneself. The support group will provide participants to have time for themselves, meet others and resources. The support group meets the third Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m.. Prescription Take-Back Day
Saturday, October 26, 2019 is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day and aims to provide a safe and convenient way to turn in your unused or expired prescription medication, An environmentally sound and responsible way to dispose of perscription drugs is sponsored by Law Enforcement Agences, check with your local pharmacy to see if they are an authorized collector location.
AARP Driver Safety Class
The Radford Chapter AARP will offer a Driver Safety class on Monday, October 21, and on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Radford Parks & Recreation Dept. with instructor, Gene Cielinski. This program will teach attendees road safety and driving tips as well as heighten awareness about the effects of slower reflexes. In addition, attendees can qualify for a certificate that may lower premium rates for auto insurance coverage. Attendees must be present for both classes to be eligible for the certificate. Be entertained at Montgomery County Government Center Multi-purpose room #1 on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. by Ricky Cox, Instructor of Appalachian Studies at Radford University, as he sings and plays the guitar and a bit of banjo in a fun celebration of love-or the lack thereof.
