The Radford Parks & Recreation Department will offer a free concert in Bisset Park at the Gazebo on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 7:00-8:00 p.m. featuring American Roots.
“American Roots” is a Blacksburg based guitar and harmony-vocal that has been performing in the 5-county area for about 30 years. Their repertoire includes the roots of Americana music from the “Carter Family to Gershwin”. They are “Crooked Road Artist” interested in preserving the music beloved by people of the southern Appalachians but also enjoy performing tunes from other genres. A typical performance may include traditional ballads, country blues, early country, tin-pan alley toe tappers, swing tunes, hot fiddle tunes (on guitar), and “Folkgrass” (folk tunes played at bluegrass tempo).
Concerts will be at the Gazebo at Bisset Park and will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a beautiful evening of great entertainment.
