Radford People in History

Construction on the Radford Historic Figures Project, featuring a commemorative plaque and a patio sitting area, with a custom Radford bench is underway.  The site is adjacent to Glencoe grounds and is a direct result of a private fundraising campaign by citizen Jack Ratcliffe.

Mr. Ratcliffe came up with the idea to recognize figures who are important to Radford's history, such as Governors Dalton and Tyler, and has been fundraising in the community.

General construction, including pouring of the concrete pad and sidewalk to the site is complete. The bench and plaque will arrive after the holidays and landscaping of the area will occur in early spring.

Donations for the project are still being accepted.

A rendering, location map, and list of the historic figures, currently included on the plaque can be found below.
