  • Treasurer’s Office Closed to the Public: In response to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the City of Radford Treasurer’s Office will be closed to the public, beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. The closures will be revisited and any revisions announced during the week of Mar. 30. The Treasurer’s Office staff will continue to work Monday through Friday to process payments and citizens can make those payments through the drop box located in the Municipal Building parking lot, online, through the United States Postal service, or by calling in to schedule an appointment at 540-731-3661.We appreciate your patience and understanding as we do our best to continue necessary local government functions while keeping our employees safe during this time.For more information, please call the Treasurer at 540-731-3661.
  • City of Radford Administrative Office Closed to the Public: In response to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the City of Radford Administrative office will be closed to the public, effective at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 20. The closures will be until further notice. The Administrative Office houses the following departments: City Manager, Building Official, Property Maintenance, Director of Operations, Economic Development, Engineering, Finance, GIS, Human Resources, Planning/Zoning/Transit, Public Information.    We appreciate your patience and understanding as we do our best to continue necessary local government functions while keeping our employees safe during this time.   • Circuit Court Clerk’s Office Modified Operations: Office will be open to the public 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Full operations letter can be found here.
  • Utility Billing Office: The Radford City Billing and Service Office is committed to doing our part in the effort to limit possible exposure to COVID-19. We take the safety and health of our employees and members of the community very seriously and as a precautionary measure we will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 23, 2020 until further notice. A member of staff is in the office and will be taking calls and processing mail. Please call the office at 540-731-3602 option 2 for assistance. Customers are encouraged to access our online services through the City’s website at www.radfordva.gov or feel free to email us at radford.ub@radfordva.gov. We remain committed to providing excellent customer service and appreciate your understanding and support.   • Commissioner of Revenue Office: is committed to doing our part in the efforts to limit possible exposure to COVID-19. We take the safety and health of our employees and members of the community very seriously and as a precautionary measure we will be closed to the public beginning Friday, March 20, 2020 until further notice.  A member of staff is in the office and will be taking calls and processing mail.We have installed a drop box, labeled Commissioner of the Revenue, at the side of the building near the handicap parking spaces for your convenience.   • NOTICE OF CANCELLATION OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AND HOLDING OF SPECIAL AND EMERGENCY MEETING  OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF RADFORD, VIRGINIA: Public Notice
  • Radford City Courthouse Complex: Public Notice Regarding the Courthouse
  • Radford Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office will close until Friday, April 3, 2020. Staff will work from home, monitor e-mail, and respond to office voicemail. Visitors to the office are by appointment only and restricted to those deemed necessary or time sensitive in nature. 
  • Radford DMV SELECT will be closed until April 2, 2020. This is accordance with Gov. Northam’s mandate for all DMVs to be closed through April 2. This is promote social distancing and will protect the health and wellness of staff and citizens.  
  • The Radford Animal Shelter is closed to the public. Please call 540-731-3688 to conduct business with the Animal Shelter.
  • Glencoe Mansion Museum and Gallery will be closed effective March 16, 2020 until further notice.
  • All Public Hearings have been cancelled and rescheduled.  Once that date is determined a notice will be sent out. 
  • COMMISSIONER OF THE REVENUE UPDATE: The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) site located in the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office has been suspended.  This is to lessen foot traffic in and out of the office and aid in "social distancing".
  • The Radford Planning Commission Meetings are cancelled until further notice. 
    • This decision was made to help with social distancing as recommended by the VDH and CDC.
  • The Radford Recreation Center and Radford Public Library will be closed to the public beginning March 16, 2020 until further notice. 
    • The following programs and events have been cancelled at the Recreation Center:
      • Youth Basketball Tournament scheduled for March 14
      • All Group Fitness Classes
      • All Senior Programs
      • All Youth Programs, both in the Recreation Center and in the Parks
      • All Adult Basketball Games
      • Youth Wrestling Tournament Scheduled for the week of March 16
      • Pickle-ball for Seniors
      • Special events, group gatherings, and public meetings.
      • Parks and trails will remain open, but we encourage residents to recreate at their own risk and to practice social distancing and good hygiene.
      • The following programs have been cancelled at the Library:
        • All special events, group gatherings, and public meetings.
    • Radford City Schools are closed through the end of the school year.
    • Radford University has moved to online learning through the Spring semester.
    • Town of Christiansburg Aquatic Center is closed until March 29, 2020.
    • Radford Transit Schedules are being modified based on population and destination needs.
    • Radford City Police Department has suspending requests for fingerprints from the public until further notice.

The decision to close these facilities is two-fold; it helps with "social distancing" and also provides time to sanitize, clean, and perform maintenance on these buildings for when the time comes to reopen. This time period is also consistent with Gov. Ralph Northam’s order that all K-12 schools in Virginia will be closed.
