The Community Development Department is responsible for current and long-range planning, administration, and enforcement of the city's zoning and subdivision ordinances, updating the Comprehensive Plan, and oversight of HUD's Community Development Block Grant. The department processes a variety of applications such as the site plan reviews, subdivision permits, special use permits, variances, rezoning's, and appeals. The Department also advises citizens and interested parties on matters concerning land development within the city, zoning laws and other relevant ordinances and laws.
The Community Development Department provided staff support to the City of Radford's Planning Commission and to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
