Two elementary schools, a primary and an upper elementary school, provide a sound program for students. Committed to providing educational services, which ensure full growth potential of the individual, the Radford City School System, has a reputation for excellence matched by few other systems. Radford students consistently score above the state average on all tests.

The students may also take preparatory classes in general business, typing, shorthand, home economics, woodworking, psychology, electrical wiring, power mechanics, machine shop, drafting, nurse’s assistant and practical nursing. Programs in special education and for students with learning disabilities are also provided.
The City of Radford operates a dynamic, comprehensive education program for students from kindergarten to 12th grade. A high school and middle school, accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges, serve the needs of students in grades 7–12.
